Nautical Skills Badge

A course over 3 evenings and a weekend covering all aspects of the

Scout ‘Basic Nautical Skills’ or ‘Nautical Skills’ Proficiency Badges

Weather permitting, there will be the opportunity to do;

• ð   Rowing/Pulling and Power Boating

• ð   First Aid and Rescue Skills

• ð   Knots, Weather and Basic Navigation

Date:            Weds 10th, 17th + 24th Sept' 2008

                    & Sat/Sun 27th + 28th Sept' 2008     

Time:            Wednesdays 1845 - 2115

                    Saturday 1230 - 1600

                    Sunday 0930 - 1600

Venue:          Wallasey Scout Boathouse

Cost:            £15.00 per person

General instructions to participants:

è    Scout uniform to be worn on arrival and departure – but not for boating activities

è    Waterproofs – jacket + trousers (coat needs to be able to fit under a lifejacket)

è    Hat and gloves if cold

è    Soft footwear to boat in (no boots or wellies)

è    Change of clothes, including footwear and a towel – just in case!

è    Packed lunch (hot drinks will be provided)

è    A completed parental consent form

è    All participants must fulfil the scout association swimming requirements for boating activities
